JOAB inaugurates new production facility in Blomstermåla – doubling capacity for refuse collection vehicles
On 21 November, JOAB officially inaugurated its new production facility in Blomstermåla. The investment of just over 2,000 square metres will double the company’s capacity to build refuse collection vehicles, strengthening JOAB’s ability to meet the growing demand for modern refuse collection vehicles in Sweden.
Among the attendees were representatives from Mönsterås Municipality, Mönsterås Utveckling, local companies and JOAB employees. The initiative has been made possible through close collaboration with Mönsterås Utveckling, the owner of the facility.
– This is a significant day for JOAB and for Blomstermåla. The market for refuse collection vehicles is growing rapidly, and we are growing with it. This new facility is a clear step in our ambition to meet market needs and continue developing here in the region, says Stefan Hartzén, CEO of JOAB.
Doubled capacity for refuse collection vehicles
The new facility enables JOAB to increase production from 3 to 6 chassis assemblies per week. A full doubling of capacity for refuse collection vehicles.
The facility will now manage all preparatory chassis assembly before the refuse collection vehicles are moved to the adjacent production hall for body mounting, final assembly and final testing.
Modern and functional production environment
Work on the new facility began in June and was completed by October. A fast and efficient process.
The building includes an assembly hall, lunchroom, changing rooms, conference room and office space, providing JOAB with improved conditions to further develop its refuse collection vehicle operations.
– This is about more than new space. It’s about confidence in the future and strengthening JOAB’s long-term presence in Blomstermåla, says Stefan Hartzén.
Continuing a long tradition and a close partnership
Blomstermåla has a long tradition of refuse collection vehicle manufacturing, and JOAB is now building on that heritage. With production, service, engineering and sales gathered in one place, the area forms a strong and efficient hub for JOAB’s refuse collection vehicle operations.
This investment has been made possible through close cooperation with Mönsterås Utveckling, the owner of the facility.
– Without Mönsterås Utveckling, this establishment could not have been completed at the same pace. Their commitment has been essential, says Stefan Hartzén.
