JOAB's technology featured on the world's first fuel cell-powered construction truck for snow plowing

On October 26, a world-first fuel cell-powered construction truck equipped for snow plowing and winter road maintenance was officially unveiled in Borlänge, Sweden. JOAB has contributed an L24 EcoDrive hooklift, a snowplow control system and technical expertise to adapt the solutions to this unique vehicle.

The groundbreaking truck is a fuel cell-powered Scania that will be operated by MaserFrakt on behalf of the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). The vehicle is equipped with snow plow equipment from Mählers, along with a JOAB L24 EcoDrive hooklift and snowplow control system. Through technical expertise and specially adapted solutions, JOAB has helped meet the project's specific requirements. The hooklift provides the vehicle with flexibility, enabling it to be used for a wide range of construction and transport applications.

An Important step towards fossil-free transport
The development of fuel cell-powered heavy-duty vehicles creates new opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of the transport and construction sectors. For vehicles operating long hours in demanding conditions, it is particularly important that new powertrain technologies can be combined with robust and reliable bodywork solutions. For JOAB, participating in this project demonstrates how the company's technology and experience can contribute to the development of the next generation of heavy-duty vehicles. Strong interest at the unveiling in Borlänge
The unveiling attracted approximately 100 attendees from the transport industry, business community and public sector. Among those present were Roberto Maiorana, Director-General of the Swedish Transport Administration; Per Bondemark, CEO of MaserFrakt; Tony Sandberg, Head of Pilot Partner at Scania; and Anders Perols, Area Manager at PEAB. The strong interest highlights the importance of collaboration between vehicle manufacturers, bodybuilders, contractors and customers in driving the transition towards more sustainable transport solutions.
