Har leverat 60 helbilsgodkända lastbilar till Danmark

Delivery of the 60th full-vehicle-approved truck to Denmark

By September next year, the EU's regulation on whole-vehicle approval will come into force. DTL Magasinet has visited the Swedish JOAB, which together with Scania has delivered more than 60 new whole-vehicle approved trucks to Danish customers. In a year, all new trucks delivered to Denmark will formally be whole-vehicle approved. This means a complete or partial phasing out of the current system of single-vehicle approval. On September 1, 2020, EU Regulation 2018/858, also known as the type-approval regulation, will come into force. At the time of writing, however, it is uncertain how the regulation will be implemented in Denmark.

Whole-car approval is an older concept from 1970 and in 1993 the first passenger car was EC type-approved. For the Swedish body builder JOAB, EU whole-car approval is not a new concept either. JOAB, which has its headquarters outside Gothenburg and production facilities around Sweden, has several years of experience with approvals.

– JOAB has long since done the preparatory work and is ISO certified, which has made it possible in recent years to deliver EU-approved bodywork together with the trucks. Up until now, we have sold a lot of approved bodywork, all of which have been delivered to Denmark. This involves https://www.tetezana.org/ more than 60 new Scania trucks that are fitted with JOAB's swap bodies, says Per Wulf, Senior Technical Adviser at JOAB.
